Angola leaving Oostende

Although the deal hasn’t been officially signed yet, it is almost certain that Braian Angola-Rodas will be leaving Basketbalclub Oostende to sign a lucrative contract with Partizan Belgrado.

With their big man Shevon Thompson also out for a while with a looming knee-operation Oostende now finds themselves without their 2 biggest pieces and will have to fill the gaps with their youth players.

Not that this proved to be an issue when they faced Liège last evening as they got the easy 58-110 victory with excellent performances from the youngsters: Sylla had the 13 pts & 15 rebs double-double, while Buysse finished with 10 pts. Buysschaert added 8 pts and Keye van der vuurst added 5 pts, 9 asts & 5 stls after missing the previous game. But of course Liège isn’t exactly a title contender and Oostende is, so undoubtedly the scouting cell will already be working overtime to find a solid replacement for Angola and perhaps (if needed) even a medical joker for Thompson.
