Mons beats Brussels (80-77)

Last week-end before the start of the season for EMBL teams. Before playing the opening game of the season against Antwerp, Brussels played his last preseason game against Mons without their starting center Ryan Richards.

This has been a back-and-forth first quarter between the 2 teams and the game was tied after one quarter (20-20 after 10′). But Ian Hanavan’s team was in front at halftime (41-45 after 20′). Brussels managed to retain his advantage in the third quarter despite some good plays from Mons (62-65 after 30′). But Vedran Bosnic’s team started the last quarter strongly (70-67 after 35′), Mons continued their run until the final buzzer and came away with the victory (80-77).

For Mons, Arik Smith scored 20 points off the bench. Skylar Spencer was dominant in the paint with 18 points and 8 rebounds.

Louis Hazard was the top scorer for Brussels with 16 points while BJ Raymond added 13 points.
