In the opening half, the players of Vedran Bosnic were dominated by Leuven as the score moved from 24-22 after the first quarter to 47-38 at the half.
After the break however, Mons completely reversed the trend following in the wake of a smooth scoring Arik Smith and Ajdin Penava (61-60).
In the final quarter Mons tightened things on the defensive end and were able to control the game and come up with the win (73-84). In the standings, Mons remains undefeated with five wins in five games, while Leuven is still searching for their first win of the season after three games.
For Mons, Arik Smith scored 22 points. Jabril Durham recorded 11 points, 9 assists and 6 rebounds. Auston Barnes scored 17 points, while Skylar Spencer was again dominant in the post with 13 points, 5 rebounds & 4 blocks.
