Player Profile: William Robeyns.

Despite the rough season Brussels Basketball is going through with their future in EuroMillions Basketball still in doubt, there have been some bright spots for them as well.

One of those bright spots is definitely the emergence of William Robeyns who in his 2nd year in Brussels (and his 6th overall in the league) is having a break-out season with averages of 8.1 ppg, shooting 56% on his 2’s, 52% on his 3s and 83% on his FT’s, while adding 1.3 rpg, 0.9 apg & 0.7 spg in 18.2 mpg.

Robeyns has continued to grow throughout the season and this past Friday night completely broke out of his shell as he scored a career-high 24 pts at Liège, doing it on 3/4 2pt shots and 6/9 from behind the arc in 26 mins of action in the lop-sided win. It’s already the 8th game in double-figures for Robeyns this season, including an 11 point performance against his former team Charleroi (in FIBA Europe Cup action). His growth, along with that of the Foerts brothers has definitely been a positive trend for Brussels to brighten up their season and with Robeyns still under contract for next season, we can only hope that it will still be in the EMBL that we’ll get to see him in action.
