The New York Knicks acquired draft rights to Axel Hervelle !

The New York Knicks acquired draft rights to Axel Hervelle. Yes, you read it right.

A couple of days ago, the New York Knicks announced that they acquired Austin Rivers from the Houston Rockets. In that same trade, the Knicks acquired draft rights to Sergio Llull, Tadija Dragicevic and Axel Hervelle !

Hervelle was drafted by the Denver Nuggets, with the 52nd pick overall of the 2005 NBA draft. He became the first Belgian player ever to be drafted. In 2009, his NBA draft rights were traded to the Houston Rockets.

Of course Axel Hervelle will not play for the Knicks as he’s retired.
