Marc Gasol signs with the Lakers. He leaves Toronto to sign a 2-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, the team who drafted him in 2007. He will earn around 2.5M per year, the minimum salary. His brother, Pau, played with the Lakers between 2007 and 2014.

With Dennis Schröder, Montrezl Harrell and Wesley Matthews, Gasol is the 4th big signing for the Lakers this off-season.

To have the space sign Gasol, the Lakers send Javale McGee McGee and a future-second round pick to Cleveland against Jordan Bell and Alfonzo McKinnie. Bell and McKinnie are on non-guaranteed deals that the Lakers can waive if they want to.

For Toronto, it’s another big loss. After Serge Ibaka‘s signing to the Clippers. The Raptors signed center Aron Baynes to a two-year, $14.3M contract to replace Gasol.
