Antwerp beats Mechelen at the Winketkaai this Sunday (74-77).
The Giants won after a nice game on the road to Mechelen (74-77)
It was the Mechelen who took the best start, in the wake of a very good Marvin Clark (25-22) .
In the second quarter, Christophe Beghin’s team was way more agressive. They obtained more free-throws and they were up by 5 at halftime (40-45).
After the break, the gap increased constantly in favor of Antwerp. The Giants were up by 8 at the end of the third quarter (55-63).
Back to the wall, Mechelen reacted by inflicting an 11-0 to Antwerp, and the game was tied with less than 3 minutes to play (69-69).
Thanks to Marvin Clark, Mechelen was up by 2 with only 1 minute to go (74-72). But with less than 20 seconds to play, Vincent Kesteloot scored a 3 pointer and Antwerp was up by 1 (74-75) ! After a last attempt by Mechelen, Fall Faye scored a dunk to seal the victory (74-77).
For Mechelen, Marvin Clark recored 25 points (6/9 3 pointers), 7 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists. Jonas Foerts scored 10 points.
For Antwerp, Vincent Kesteloot recorded 15 points and 7 rebounds. Vrenz Bleijenbergh had 12 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 assists.
