The last Student-Athlete in the USA that we’ll be taking a closer look at is Bethy Mununga who just finished her junior year at the University of South Florida (NCAA) where she provided a solid inside presence.
She started in 27 of her 29 games and averaged very nice numbers with 9.2 ppg (3rd on the team) & 10.1 rpg (1st on the team), while also providing 1.2 apg, 1.2 spg & 0.9 bpg in 26.2 mpg. She recorded an impressive 9 Double-Doubles over the course of her season, including a 16 pts & 14 rebs (+ 3 blks) performance in a win against Brown (Dec. 30). She pulled down a season-high 17 boards in a match-up at Tulane (Feb. 13) and also added 11 pts in the win. Mununga’s season ended in the Semi-Finals of the AAC Conference Tournament as USF lost it to UConn.
Mununga now has one more season left in her collegiate career before she will undoubtedly be looking to start her professional career.
