LeBron James extends his contract with Lakers

LeBron James extends his contract with Lakers. His agent, Rich Paul, confirmed the news on Wednesday.

James has reached an agreement on a contract extension until 2023. The first year of the extension will take place of the 2021-22 player option. The deal will keep Lebron James in Los Angeles through the 2022-23 season.

This contract means Lebron James will be a Laker until he’s38 years old. This new deal expires the same year his son Bronny graduates from high school. James alxays said that he want to play with his son in the NBA before calling it a career.

James, who will turn 36 soon, led the Lakers to their first title in a decade last season, the seventeenth in club history.

James has been playing for the Lakers since the summer of 2018. He was voted as the MVP of the Finals in the NBA bubble in Orlando. He previously won titles with Miami and Cleveland.

The new NBA season starts on December 22. The Lakers start with a derby against the Los Angeles Clippers.
