Stephen Curry Answers Critics With a 62-Point Game: “I took all that personally”

Stephen Curry Answers Critics With a 62-Point Game:” I took all that personally”.

Stephen Curry was on fire against Portland. He scored 62 points, his career-high. Curry averaged 26.4 points and 6.6 assists through the first five games of the season. But the Warriors only had a record of 2-3. And Curry received a lot of criticism. Some people even questioned his ability to carry a team in the NBA.

Cue the Jordan meme, right? ‘I take all that personally.’ I sensed the opportunity to kind of assert my will on the game early and try to create some energy and get off on the right foot. As crazy as it sounds after the game, all we really wanted to do was win the first quarter and take it from there. Obviously, that’s what we did, and we continued the momentum. We have a winning spirit, we’ve just got to figure out how to do it consistently, and against the good teams in the league, it’s gonna test us“, said Curry after the game.

Of course Steph Curry will not dominate games like LeBron James or Giannis Antetokunmpo. Curry is “only” 6’2″ and can’t carry a game with physicality and athleticism. But Stephen Curry is a unique player and he’s still a game changer in the NBA.

He came out looking like a man on a mission. Just because of all the talk that has been going around. I could see it from the very first possession. He said ‘enough’. People are always going to talk. That’s just the nature of the business we’re in. It’s always what have you done for me lately. It is what it is. He’ll have another bad game at some point, and they’ll keep talking”, said Draymond Green after the game.
