Jae’Sean Tate will sign with the Rockets

According to sources, Jae’Sean Tate will sign with the Rockets this Friday when free agency opens.

Tate signed with Antwerp in August 2018 to replace the injured Tyler Kalinoski for the Champions League qualifications. He averaged 17.3 points and 8.5 rebounds during the qualifications. Antwerp decided to offer him a contract until the end of the season.

In EMBL, he averaged 10.4 points and 4.1 rebounds in the 2018-2019 season. In 20 games in Champions League he averaged 12.2 points and 5.1 rebounds. He helped Antwerp to reach the Final Four and the third place in the Champions League 2019.

Last season, Tate played in Australia with the Sydney Kings and former NBA player Andrew Bogut. The Kings won the regular season. They also reached the Grand Final before the season was stopped due to the Covid-19. Tate was voted MVP at the Kings’ end-of-season awards night.

Will Weaver, his coach in Sydney, is now an assistant coach in Houston.
