Spirou continues to rejuvenate their roster and adds Tim Lambrecht to the mix
22 year old Forward Tim Lambrecht is following his younger brother Sam and signs a 3 year deal with Spirou Charleroi as Head Coach Sam Rotsaert adds another young talent to his roster.
With the addition of Tim Lambrecht Spirou now sports 8 youngsters (Milan Samardzic, Sam Lambrecht, Marlon Makwa, Thibaut Bronchart, Moussa Noterman, Noah Fogang and Noé Botuli) on their roster for the upcoming season as they have clearly embarked on a new road. A road focused on the further development of our Belgian youngsters.
Despite still only being 22 years old Tim Lambrecht should already be a household name for any Belgian basketball fan as he made his first appearance in the EMBL 5 years ago with BC Oostende and has consistently been amongst the top-players in TDM1 with Gistel as well as our National Youth Teams.
While competing with our U20 team in the summer of 2018 Lambrecht made himself a name on the European scene as well as he was selected to the European Championship (Div. B) All-Tournament Team when he averaged a very impressive 16.1 ppg, 12.6 rpg, 2.3 apg, 1.9 spg & 1.1 bpg throughout the tournament.
Last season Lambrecht left BC Oostende (after 8 years under the tutelage of Sam Rotsaert and Dario Gjergja) and signed with the Leuven Bears with Eddy Casteels in search of more playing time. At Leuven he put down EMBL career-high averages of 4.3 ppg & 4.4 rpg in 18.7 mpg.
With his move to Charleroi Lambrecht now rejoins the coach that has guided him on his way to becoming one of the best Belgian prospects around and who knows better than anyone else what the talented Forward brings to the table… and perhaps most importantly: knows how to get the best out of him.
At TIB we can only nod in agreement with this move which – we’re convinced – will prove to be benificial for both parties.
